FAQs

What type of photographer are you?

I am a wedding and portrait photographer with an affinity for getting outside to capture people doing what they love. I like stories, movement, action, and emotion. I try to lay bare the truth of my subjects by incorporating the environments that affect them. If I were a cocktail I would be 1 part photojournalist, 1 part portrait photographer. Add a splash of lime, shake and strain over ice, garnish with rugged coastal landscapes.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based on the northern coast of Oregon, and I travel extensively in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Destination weddings are mostly what I do.

Are Prices Flexible To Fit Our Budget?

Your event is unique, so prices will reflect the services requested. I'm always happy to tailor my services where I can, so that you're getting what you want— nothing more or less. Most weddings and photography sessions will fall between the prices listed on the "Pricing" page. Some factors that determine price include: coverage time, travel, date, and special requests.

How do you photograph weddings?

I'll help your big day run more smoothly by being there when you need me, offering direction, suggesting photo opportunities, and by making you feel comfortable! I can follow your coordinator's timeline or provide my own. I capture guests, details, flowers, candid moments, dance floor moves and more! I also like to steal the couple away for intimate photos when the time is right. My photo-journalistic style lends itself to capturing weddings and portraits in a unique way, creating a collection of photographs that feels authentic to you.

Do You Have A Second Shooter?

Only if one is requested. I have an extremely capable second shooter I often work with, and I will need plenty of notice so I can check their availability. If your event includes people at multiple locations before, during, or after the ceremony, or extremely large venues, a second shooter may be helpful, though not entirely necessary.

Can I Extend A Session The Day Of?

Usually, yes. There will be times I have prior engagements and cannot extend a session, but I will always do my best to be available for you! Don't be afraid to ask— if the shoot is going great, it would be a shame to cut it short.

When will we get our photos?

You will receive proofs of your photos via an online gallery no more than 2 weeks following your event!

Weddings— You will receive your final photos within 6-8 weeks. Delivery time may be quicker depending on the season.

Casual Sessions— Delivery ranges from 1-4 weeks, depending on what type of session we do.

Photos are delivered via online gallery where you can view, download, and print your pictures! If you need a select few photos delivered quickly for "thank-you's" or other purposes, I can try to fulfill those requests. I always aim to deliver as quickly as possible without rushing the process.

How many pictures will we receive?

Longer sessions don't always mean more photos, but it does mean more variety and more opportunities for incredible moments. Typical 8 hour coverage of a wedding will provide you between 300-400 fully edited photos. Casual sessions vary depending on how long we shoot and your individual needs. These numbers can vary, so don't be afraid to tell me how many photos you're hoping to receive. I want to provide you with realistic expectations, and the best possible final gallery.

Do I Have To Order Prints Through You?

No, but it is the best value. When your photos are delivered, you can download and print using whatever service you desire. However, I have access to professional print labs at fantastic prices, and you can print directly from my delivery website. Professional labs reproduce the exact color I see on my screen while editing, so you can expect an amazing product. I can't recommend using cheaper alternatives to print your photos. It's a great idea to order at least one sample print from the professional lab to illustrate the difference in quality and help you decide if it's worth it to you.

I have a link at the top of this page with tips on ordering prints!

What kind of equipment do you use?

My cameras and gear are professional quality and nothing less— ready to perform under any circumstance. While capturing weddings, I usually have two camera bodies attached to me. For Casual Sessions, I carry one or two cameras.
